BSM’s Integrated Management Policy sets the course as we continue driving progress in our city
At BSM, our commitment to our surroundings is fundamental. We work to improve people’s quality of life, creating positive experiences to build a healthy, pioneering Barcelona. This is our purpose – and our guiding inspiration as we continue to drive the city forwards.
To make this a reality, we use a management model based on four pillars: citizens and our clients; people; processes; and economic, environmental, social and governance (EESG) impacts. These pillars means we deliver value-added services, in which our focus is always on innovation and a commitment to improving everything we do, every day.
We share a common way of working and understanding. This means we can face present and future challenges with clarity and coherence, make steady progress towards our goals and remain transparent and accountable. We meet the needs of our stakeholders and comply with our integrated management system for quality, the environment, ethics and occupational health and safety. We also adhere to the United Nations Global Compact, of which we are a signatory, and remain committed to excellent, innovative and sustainable management in line with the EFQM Model.
These are our commitments:
• Listening and learning: we deliver services that meet the needs and expectations of our stakeholders, fostering a culture of active listening and continuous improvement, while supporting team development.
• Acting responsibly, with people and the future in mind: we manage our activities according to social, economic and environmental sustainability criteria. We do this by promoting responsible practices that improve collective well-being and contribute to long-term development.
• Protecting the environment: we work to minimise negative environmental impacts and maximise positive ones. We achieve this by engaging and raising awareness across society, managing resources responsibly and promoting actions to mitigate and adapt to climate change, protect biodiversity and prevent pollution.
• Fulfilling all our commitments: we comply with all legal obligations, applicable regulatory frameworks and any other agreements or commitments we undertake.
• Ensuring a safe, healthy and inclusive working environment: we listen to staff, encourage participation, uphold labour rights and drive improvement through social dialogue and equal opportunities, while supporting the physical, mental and social well-being of everyone at BSM.
• Preventing risks and ensuring team safety: we identify and assess occupational risks to avoid or minimise them. We implement effective measures and foster a culture of health and safety based on trust. We provide teams with the necessary resources to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses.
• Acting with ethics, transparency and security: we apply good-governance practices that ensure respect, privacy and equality in all our actions.
BSM’s Management Board approves, leads and promotes this policy, which provides the framework for setting and achieving our strategic objectives.
