Mobility and coexistence

Over a million people use SMOU to get around Barcelona and its metropolitan area. We bring together over 20 mobility services and, among other functions, we offer information in real time about public transport and a route planner. 

BSM has a network of over 40 car parks throughout the city. These car parks are becoming new multi-service hubs that bring together various mobility needs, including electrical charging, shared mobility solutions and package-collection services.  
 

Endolla Barcelona is the largest public e-mobility charging network in southern Europe. It provides even coverage across all the city’s neighbourhoods, facilitating the wider use of electric vehicles. 
 

We promote a number of public-private innovative and collaborative initiatives, foster interoperability so that any user can access the network, and encourage planned, sustainable charging.

Bicing is the best complementary public transport service for moving around Barcelona sustainably. Every day, over 60,000 people use the service for their journeys. With a hybrid fleet of 7,000 bicycles – 4,000 electric and 3,000 mechanical – distributed throughout the city in 593 stations, it is one of the world’s leading shared bicycle services.

Sustainable mobility in the professional sphere, too. SPRO is a mobile application that helps to organise and plan mobility associated with urban goods distribution (UGD) in Barcelona and eight metropolitan municipalities. It also facilitates the reservation of places for stopping and parking tourist coaches in Barcelona’s bus areas.

AREA is a service that optimises street-level parking spaces, contributing to sustainable mobility in the city and helping to reduce emissions. Barcelona now has over 71,000 regulated parking spaces. 

Civic Officers foster the responsible use of public spaces and ensure compliance with regulations governing peaceful coexistence. They do so by informing and educating the general public, by being there for people when they are most needed. They play a key role in making Barcelona a friendly, orderly and respectful city. 

Barcelona Nord is the new hub for tourist mobility in Barcelona. All the arrivals and departures of the main tourism operators in one place, as well as coach routes to national and international destinations. This helps to pacify the city centre. 

Located on Avinguda Meridiana, the Fabra i Puig Bus Station has always been a vital transport hub linking the city of Barcelona with its metropolitan area. It offers various connections with the public transport network, thereby guaranteeing intermodality. 

Barcelona has a series of parking areas exclusively for coaches, located near the city’s main tourist attractions. These bus areas promote organised parking and facilitate stops for the vehicles of professionals in the sector. 

The Register of PMVs, cycles with more than two wheels and bicycles promotes sustainable and safe mobility and ensures there is an arrangement available for resolving community problems in public spaces. 

The Grua Municipal helps to ensure a high level of road discipline as well as safe, efficient and sustainable mobility, in order to improve the quality of people’s lives. 

Cementiris de Barcelona offers cemetery, cremation, funeral and bereavement services. Its mission is to become the city of Barcelona’s leading funeral service. 

Our aim is also to encourage city residents to visit cemeteries as places of remembrance that also have historical, natural, cultural and heritage value.
