A guided tour of the Poblenou Cemetery will tell the story of ten trailblazing women who were leading figures in their day

Representing different eras, environments and social classes, they were united by the need to demand the emancipation of women

Cementiris de Barcelona will commemorate International Women's Day with the guided tour "A women's walk", at Poblenou Cemetery. The route promoted by the first burial site in Barcelona will allow us to learn more about the ten women who were trailblazers in their day and a role model for subsequent generations.

Their graves will introduce us to different periods, environments and social classes. Despite their differences, one thing they all had in common was the need to demand women's emancipation. The ten women are the visible face of many others who were relegated to anonymity but who also showed their desire for freedom.

The guided tour will start at 11.00 am on 8 March and last one and a half hours. Book your places for free on https://cultura.cbsa.cat/.
