Participatory talks on animal welfare, as well as meet and greets with animal keepers, will be held every day of the week
Summer camps are back too, with over 1,000 participants
The summer programme at Zoo de Barcelona is kicking off in time for the start of the school holidays. Every day of the week from today until early September, visitors to the Zoo will get the chance to take part in a wide variety of family activities.
These will include, among others, participatory talks on animal welfare and the protection of endangered species, as well as meet and greets with animal keepers and tours of the Invertebrates area.
For the second consecutive year, Ludo Zoo, the educational area where visitors to the Zoo can learn and find out about the planet's biodiversity through books, games and other media, will also be open. You can find it in the Welcome Classroom, and it is free to enter.
All these activities are included in the park admission fee. You can check the times on the Zoo de Barcelona website.
Zoo Club member activities will continue over the holidays, and summer camps are now starting too
In addition to this range of summer activities, Zoo Club members can continue to enjoy the five Nature Passport activities, which will also be held on weekdays for the next few months. To take part, you must first register on the Zoo website.
The Nature Passport is a Zoo de Barcelona educational initiative designed to teach young children about the biodiversity of our planet through fun and lively activities.
During the next few weeks, the Zoo will also hold summer camps for 5 to 14-year-olds. There will be 11 different activities this year, all of them aimed at raising awareness of the importance of preserving biodiversity and the natural environment. The full list of activities is available on the Zoo website. Over 1,000 participants have already registered to take part, and a few places are still available.
