The Cultural Regatta and La Mercè mark the start of the Port Olímpic's year-round programme of cultural events and activities for all audiences

Music, good food and sailing will be the focus of the next few weekends at the Port Olímpic, where part of the Cultural Regatta programme will be held from 14 September to 13 October. From 12 noon onwards, the eight free Bluejazz concerts, organised by the ICUB in partnership with the Barcelona Jazz Festival, will be held at the Moll de Mestral quay. As well as enjoying the shows, visitors to the Port Olímpic will be able to take part in family activities and workshops in the morning before exploring the shops and restaurants on the Restaurant Deck and then making their way to the Dic de Recer sea wall to watch the America's Cup regattas.

Over 60 organisations are involved in the Cultural Regatta, offering the public close to 200 art, sports, food, science and leisure events and activities to supplement the America's Cup. At the Port Olímpic, the public will be able to discover what the following eight jazz ensembles have to offer:

  • Antonio Lizana Quintet (14 September)
  • Pau Figueres Trio (15 September)
  • Campisi, Arcarazo and Perramon feat. Rossy (28 September)
  • Eva Fernández Trio (29 September)
  • Carme Canela and ONCA (5 October)
  • Barcelona Jazz Orchestra (6 October)
  • Andrea Motis with Barcelona Gospel Messengers (12 October)
  • Munir Hossn "Elas" (13 October)

As well as the Cultural Regatta concerts, the Port Olímpic will be part of La Mercè for the first time from 21 to 24 September, with a daytime programme including eleven family shows and activities.

With the Cultural Regatta and La Mercè, the Port Olímpic is kicking off a year-round programme that will give Barcelona's residents the chance to discover an area that has been reclaimed for the city and taste all the delights on offer at the Restaurant Deck, as well as go for walks, do sport and enjoy such special spots as the Dic de Recer sea wall, which has the best views of the city coastline.
