Perched at the top of the city, it will become Barcelona’s highest restaurant, with unrivalled views and a seasonal menu designed for the whole family to enjoy

Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo is ready to open Masia Tibidabo, its new Catalan restaurant for all ages, led by chef Rafa Zafra. Conceived as a high-quality dining destination for everyone, the new project expands the Tibidabo experience beyond its rides and attractions and arrives as part of the park’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

Masia Tibidabo is housed in the historic Masia building in Pl. Tibidabo, 500 metres above sea level, and will become Barcelona’s highest restaurant, offering sweeping panoramic views across the city. The Modernist building, whose architect remains unknown, first opened in 1901 and has now been restored as part of the project by Varis Arquitectes, with Dani Freixes at the helm. 

To make getting there easier, table reservations include travel on the Cuca de Llum funicular, taking visitors comfortably to the summit. Parking is also available for those arriving by car. 

The restaurant opens on 5 June and marks another step in Tibidabo’s evolution into a complete leisure destination, where gastronomy further enriches the visitor experience. Managed by the municipal company BSM, the park is continuing its commitment to giving people new reasons to make the trip to the top of the city, spend time together and rediscover everything the setting has to offer beyond the attractions themselves.

Chef Rafa Zafra had this to say about the opening: “It is an honour to lead this project during the 125th anniversary year of Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo. A restaurant that sparks children’s curiosity and reconnects adults with a sense of childhood wonder

Masia Tibidabo is headed by Rafa Zafra, one of the leading names in Spanish gastronomy. Born in Seville in 1981, he moved to Barcelona at the age of 24 to train at elBulli under Ferran Adrià.

With capacity for 300 guests, the new restaurant is divided into three distinct spaces: a central dining room, a viewing lounge and a terrace, each designed for different moments and ways of enjoying the experience. 

That distinction also extends to the menu, which adapts to the pace of each setting. In the two indoor spaces – the central dining room and viewing lounge – the experience is more relaxed and designed for long, unhurried conversations around the table. The terrace, meanwhile, offers a quicker, more flexible option, ideal for a short break overlooking the amusement park and the Collserola hills.

Masia Tibidabo offers Catalan cuisine for all ages centred around origin, ingredients and time, with dishes designed for sharing, remembering and enjoying at a slower pace. It is a place where children can discover more grown-up flavours with curiosity, while adults can rediscover the excitement of seeing things through fresh eyes. The experience is completed by an extensive wine list, reinforcing the spirit behind the project: make the journey up to sit down; sit down to enjoy.

Interior design inspired by the park’s visual universe

In terms of the interior design and concept – also developed by Varis Arquitectes – Masia Tibidabo stands out for its warmth, with wood and warm hues taking centre stage throughout the space. One of the defining features of the interior is the lighting. The ceiling lights also function as large spotlights, allowing the space to be transformed and the lighting, atmosphere and colour adapted as needed. The concept draws on the imaginative world of the amusement park, creating unique interior landscapes and immersive environments. 

Large windows complete the design, making the most of the privileged location at the top of Tibidabo and turning the scenery into the focal point, with panoramic views across Barcelona, the sea and the surrounding mountains.

Fisidabo is an initiative organised by BSM and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia – BarcelonaTech (UPC) as part of BSM’s STEAM education programme

Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo hosted the ninth edition of Fisidabo, an educational event organised by BSM and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia – BarcelonaTech (UPC) that combines fun with learning about science. This year, more than 2,800 students from 4th year of compulsory secondary education (ESO) and baccalaureate in 79 schools all over Barcelona and other areas of Catalonia were able to apply the physics and maths concepts they learn in the classroom in real life. 

Over the course of the day, pupils were divided into groups to conduct science experiments inspired by the park’s attractions, which became real-life laboratories for exploring topics such as kinematics, dynamics, energy and optics. For example, they examined the Merlí drop tower to analyse vertical movement and calculate its acceleration based on real data, while on the Muntanya Russa rollercoaster, the pupils studied changes in energy and speed at different points in the ride. The event also featured other attractions such as the Piratta, Tibidabo Express, Giradabo and Cuca de Llum, giving pupils the opportunity to apply theoretical content in a practical, motivating environment.

Physical Engineering bachelor’s degree programme at the UPC once again provided educational support at the attractions and were on hand to answer any questions from teachers and pupils over the course of the day through an open classroom in the Piratta area.

Fisidabo is part of BSM’s STEAM educational programme, which promotes initiatives that encourage young people to pursue careers in science and technology and help them access scientific knowledge through innovative educational experiences. In this way, Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo has become a key educational space for the city, combining leisure, science outreach and applied learning.

An established project enjoyed by more than 10,000 students

Organised in partnership with the Physical Engineering bachelor’s degree programme at the UPC’s Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB) and in collaboration with BSM, Fisidabo was created in 2012 as a pioneering initiative to make physics more accessible to secondary school pupils through experimentation in an unconventional environment. Since then, the project has grown and grown, seeing participation from more than 10,000 pupils across its various editions and emerging as one of the most unique science outreach educational projects in Catalonia.

Fisidabo has even been recognised with the National Research Prize in the Scientific Communication category, an award that highlights the project’s ability to combine academic rigour and entertainment, as well as the collaboration between academia, public institutions and the urban environment in order to promote scientific knowledge among the younger generations.

The new floating jetties are better adapted to the effects of climate change and allow for more efficient water and electricity management at the moorings 

With an investment of €4.5M, this work has increased the number of moorings for boats measuring 8–12 metres, which are the most common and in demand in the port

Port Olímpic, a space managed by the municipal company BSM, has completed another phase of its transformation, which aims to adapt maritime infrastructure current demand and improve services for its users. 

This latest phase included the work to replace the jetties as part of a project that completely renovated the mooring facilities at the Moll de Xaloc, Moll de Gregal, Moll de Mestral and Moll de Marina quays. The new floating jetties are better adapted to the effects of climate change, such as severe storms or fluctuations in sea level. 

This renovation also increases durability and allows for a more flexible mooring space layout, as the moorings can be adjusted and rearranged according to current and future sailing needs. With these improvements, Port Olímpic is strengthening its position as a resilient, sustainable space adapted to real sailing needs.

‘By renovating the jetties, Port Olímpic is taking a key step forward to adapt to the effects of climate change while improving service quality at the moorings,’ says the first deputy mayor and chair of BSM, Laia Bonet. ‘These works make for a stronger, more resilient, more sustainable urban port that is better integrated with the city, in line with the Barcelona model: modern infrastructure, efficient use of resources and quality public spaces.’ 

Mooring dimensions adapted to meet actual demand

The jetty renovation work has also increased the number of moorings for boats measuring 8–12 metres, which are the most common and in demand at Port Olímpic. Specifically, the mooring spaces at Moll de Gregal have been expanded to 8 metres – a size compatible with boats such as those in the J70 class, which are seen often in the port – and availability of moorings for 12-metre boats has been increased. With these changes, Port Olímpic now has 674 moorings. 

Furthermore, additional work has improved the port’s operations and user experience. For example, along the jetties, smart water and electricity supply towers have been installed to ensure more efficient and safer consumption management, thanks to monitoring systems and the implementation of an automated billing system. 

As for security, smart cameras have been installed for enhanced monitoring and surveillance of the facilities. 
The renovation work required an investment of €4.5M, funded by BSM, and was carried out in phases over the past year to make sure Port Olímpic remained operational at all times.

With the jetty renovations and associated improvements, Port Olímpic is strengthening its position as a leading, innovative urban port that is ready to take on current and future sailing challenges. This modern, adaptable infrastructure is focused on service quality and is fully integrated into the city. 

One year after the first Ibiza wall lizard specimens were transferred to Zoo de Barcelona for study and ex-situ breeding, 32 hatchlings have already been born  

These births represent an important step towards ensuring the survival of one of the archipelago’s most iconic and endangered species 

Zoo de Barcelona and the Government of the Balearic Islands have been successful in their project to protect the Ibiza wall lizard (Podarcis pityusensis), one of the most iconic species of the Balearic Islands, which is especially threatened by the proliferation of invasive exotic species, particularly snakes. 

A year after the first lizard specimens were transferred to Zoo de Barcelona for study and ex-situ breeding, 32 hatchlings have already been born, a figure that exceeds initial expectations and has led the Balearic government to expand the initiative by transferring 33 new specimens from the Pityusic islets to the zoo. These new, genetically diverse specimens come from Cala Salada Islet, Ses Margalides, Murada Island, Es Caragoler Gros, and Sa Sal Rossa Islet. 

The ex-situ breeding project began in May 2025 after 17 healthy and genetically diverse specimens were transferred to Zoo de Barcelona facilities to establish the first ex-situ breeding lines for the species. Specifically, three distinct lines were created: two corresponding to populations from Ibiza, with two males and three females each; and a third from Formentera, consisting of three males and four females. 

Since the start of the programme, the first breeding pairs have produced 16 clutches and 32 offspring. Some pairs have laid two or even three clutches, exceeding the project’s initial expectations. Furthermore, the first clutches came from already pregnant females, which adds significant biological and genetic value by incorporating offspring from males other than those initially included in the programme.

This Thursday, the Balearic Islands minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and the Natural Environment, Joan Simonet, and the director-general of the Natural Environment and Forest Management, Anna Torres, visited Zoo de Barcelona. There, together with the zoo’s director, Antoni Alarcon, they reviewed the project’s progress and announced its expansion.

“The project’s initial results are promising news for the conservation of Balearic biodiversity and confirm that the work led by the Government of the Balearic Islands, with the technical and scientific support of Zoo de Barcelona, are on the right track,” said Simonet. “Protecting this species is also part of our responsibility to our natural heritage and to future generations.” 

“The results of this first year confirm the effectiveness of the ex-situ conservation programmes and demonstrate Zoo de Barcelona’s firm commitment to supporting the Balearic government’s management of the Ibiza wall lizard populations,” said Alarcón. “This is one of the zoo’s most important conservation projects outside of Catalonia, and the extremely satisfactory results could have a very positive impact on the future of this highly endangered species.”

The Government of the Balearic Islands is working with a view to developing, in later phases, population reinforcement and reintroduction programmes in safe areas, once progress has been made in controlling invasive snakes. This will allow for the gradual recovery of the species in areas where it has disappeared or is currently in critical decline.
 

The project’s measures include improvements to lighting along paths and in heritage spaces, with new lamps installed in the area, and a stronger Wi-Fi connection throughout the park

The improvement works will begin in the autumn and will cost €6M, funded by BSM

The measures are part of the Park Güell Strategic Plan 2023–2027 and help to further establish it as a local, open urban park for city residents’ day-to-day enjoyment

Park Güell is rolling out new changes user experience improvements to strengthen its role as a large green space where city residents can go for a walk and relax. The improvements seek to make the park safer and more comfortable, while preserving the heritage value of this iconic space.

These measures are part of the Park Güell Strategic Plan 2023–2027 and help to further establish it as a local, open urban park for city residents’ day-to-day enjoyment.

Improved lighting along paths and at heritage spaces 

To enhance comfort and make routes through the park safer, the lighting will be improved along the main paths – including Camí de Dalt, Passeig de les Palmeres and the steps that connect the two – as well as on the steps in the Jardins d’Àustria and in the Carrer d’Olot children’s play area. 

The new lighting will be more efficient, with low environmental impact and proper integration into the surrounding environment, in order to improve visibility along the most popular routes and increase the feeling of safety at the park.

The ornamental lighting in the Sala Hipòstila and at the Turó de les Tres Creus will also be improved, as will as the inside of the Sala Hipòstila rain collection tank, one of Gaudí’s systems that is now being restored to optimise water use in the park. 

‘These measures are reflect a very specific goal: to constantly improve public use of Park Güell, by improving comfort and ensuring that neighbourhood and city residents can experience it as a local park for taking a walk, relaxing and enjoying day-to-day life,’ said the first deputy mayor and chair of BSM, Laia Bonet. ‘The new lighting will guarantee safe paths and has been designed according to efficiency and low environmental impact criteria, with careful integration into a prime green space and heritage site.’ 

A safer, more connected, more comfortable park 

The project also involves improving the Wi-Fi throughout the park, with more widespread and better coverage so that city residents can stay connected while they go for a stroll, relax or take part in activities.
Furthermore, the park’s CCTV system will be updated and the stairs connecting Passeig de les Palmeres and Camí de Dalt will be restored, making sure the original stone is preserved and the step height is optimised for comfort and safety. 

This set of improvements will be complemented by work on the eatery located inside Park Güell, at the Carrer d’Olot entrance. The premises will be completely renovated, with a modern design and a more functional layout. 
Work on these improvements will begin in the autumn and will take approximately a year and a half. It will be carried out in phases in order to minimise disruptions. In total, 6 million euros have been earmarked for the project, funded by BSM.

Work begins on improving the park’s watering system 

A series of improvements to optimise water use and adapt to the effects of climate change are also under way at Park Güell. First, the watering system is being revamped in order to improve its efficiency and adapt it to the needs of each area of the park. Second, work is being carried out to restore one of the original purposes Gaudí had in mind for this park: collecting, storing and reusing rainwater. 

To this end, Gaudí’s two original tanks – the Sala Hipòstila and Pota d’Elefant tanks – will be restored. The former will act as a channel for water to pass through, while the second will store rainwater and be connected to the park’s watering network.  

In parallel, improvements are being made to the park’s drainage through paving refurbishment, and the number of drinking water fountains will be doubled, from five to ten. Three of the new fountains will be located inside the park, while the other two will be located at the Carrer Sant Josep de la Muntanya and Carrer del Forat del Vent entrances. 

Work on these improvements, which started in March, will be finished in late 2027 and is also funded by BSM, with an investment of €4M. 

Awarded by the Fundació Barcelona Zoo, the grants fall within the Zoo de Barcelona’s mission to promote knowledge and drive the preservation of biodiversity

Four out of 29 applications were chosen in the 17th edition of the grants, worth over 52,000 euros

Zoo de Barcelona takes another step in its commitment to research and dissemination with new grants for young researchers within the framework of the Research and Conservation Programme of the Fundació Barcelona Zoo. 

This annual call supports research and conservation projects headed by emerging talent and focused on the protection of wildlife and ecosystems. Specifically, the call is aimed at initiatives headed by pre-doctoral or post-doctoral researchers. 

In this 17th edition, four scientific projects were selected from a total of 29 received. The projects, all headed by women researchers, address fields such as the study of Mediterranean habitats and fauna, as well as research areas linked to animal welfare, and contribute to advancing knowledge of and the preservation of biodiversity. The Fundació Barcelona Zoo is awarding the sum of 52,817 euros in all.

The goal of this project is to understand the ecology of water vole (Arvicola sapidus), a species closely linked with fluvial and wetland areas, and its capacity to respond to adverse environmental changes, to guide effective conservation strategies in Catalonia.

Assessing toxicological and infectious threats to Cinereous Vultures in the Spanish Pyrenees, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (María Escobar González)

This project focusses on assessing the main toxicological and infectious risks affecting Black Vulture (Aegypius monachus) populations through an integrated health surveillance approach. 
 

On the weekend of 18 and 19 April, the park will offer cultural and family activities aimed at encouraging reading and fostering an interest in the world of books

Visitors will also be invited to take part in a photography competition featuring the new ‘Barcelona’ letters 

To prepare for Sant Jordi, on the weekend of 18 and 19 April, Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo will be holding the first edition of the Festa de les Lletres, an event that brings together culture, reading and leisure in one of the city’s most iconic spaces. The cultural initiative will involve reading-related activities for all audiences, as well as special discounts for visitors. 

In order to promote reading, over that weekend, anyone who brings a book to exchange will get a 30% discount on the price of their entry ticket (applicable to adult tickets only). This way, visitors can give away books they have already read and take away new ones to discover. The book exchange will take place at the book stall next to the Carousel. 

The highlight of the Festa de les Lletres will be the all-new storytelling experience ‘La Llegenda Oblidada’ (The Forgotten Legend), on at 1:30 pm, 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm on Plaça dels Somnis. This activity brings together the tradition of the legend of Sant Jordi, imagination and stories.

On top of all this, all visitors are entitled to a bookmark to commemorate the Festa de les Lletres. Over at the Espai dels Somnis, a creative workshop will be held, where children can colour in and personalise their own bookmarks. Of everyone who takes part and sends a photo of their creation to comunicaciotibidabo@bsmsa.cat will be entered into a prize draw for five giant Tibidabo Mascot stuffed toys.

Photography competition with the new ‘Barcelona’ letters 

Meanwhile, the park will be holding a photography competition featuring the new ‘Barcelona’ letters at the Panoramic Area viewpoint. To take part, simply take a photo with the letters, post it to Instagram between 18 and 23 April, tag the profile @parctibidabo and include the hashtag #BarcelonaTibidabo. Participants could win a double annual pass for the attractions in the Panoramic Area and the Cuca de Llum.

The Barcelona Electric Marine Show (BEMS) has closed out its third edition and consolidated its position as a leading sustainable sailing event on a national level. The event, organised by Port Olímpic and the National Association of Electric Boats (ANBE), was held at the Moll de Mestral wharf in Port Olímpic from 10 to 12 April. 

For a third consecutive year, BEMS has welcomed local and international businesses that are leading the energy transition in sailing, joined for the first time by companies and professionals linked to e-mobility. This addition strengthens the connection between land and sea in the process of decarbonising mobility.

Over the course of these three days, at the BEMS exhibition area, visitors have seen and tried out the latest developments in zero-emission sea mobility, such as the 100% electric jet ski by Taiga Motors (Canada), the electric catamaran by Earthling e-Propulsion (New Zealand), the solar-powered boat by Elvene Boats (Finland), the underwater scooter Sea-NXT Elite RS by Sea-NXT (France) and the new llaüt boat with two electric motors by Electric Inside Boats (Catalonia). In addition, this third edition of BEMS saw the first presentation of the new Spirit outboard motor by ePropulsion.

In terms of land mobility, the event featured exhibitors like Endolla Barcelona, the e-mobility network managed by BSM, manufacturers like Tesla (USA) and Xpeng (China), and the e-vehicle specialist dealer E-Letamendi. The new LS1 scooter by the North American brand Zero Motorcycles also had its official European presentation. 

The event included an extensive programme of talks, during which representatives from the sailing world, the port sector and renewable energies looked at the main challenges of decarbonisation and the progress being made towards more sustainable sailing.

Furthermore, over the weekend, BEMS opened its doors to the public, who discovered the latest developments in electric boating, zero-emission water sports and electric vehicles, and enjoyed a wide range of free family and sports activities.

Barcelona Capital Nàutica has been recognised for its key role in promoting sustainability and decarbonisation in the nautical ecosystem in Catalonia. From organising major international events to promoting innovation and energy transition projects, the organisation is contributing to Barcelona’s position as a European leader in sustainable sailing and the blue economy.

Award for innovation with hydrogen as an energy vector for the sea and recreational sailing: DH2 Energy 

DH2 Energy has received this award for its use of green hydrogen as an energy vector for the maritime sector. The company develops pioneering projects linked to the production and application of renewable hydrogen, thus helping to pave the way for the decarbonisation of sea transport and recreational sailing through next-generation green fuels.

International award for the best electric catamaran: Earthling e-Propulsion 

The electric catamaran Earthling, powered by ePropulsion technology, has been recognised as an international example of innovation in 100% electric sailing design. This project shows that it is possible to combine sustainable naval architecture, energy efficiency and silent, emission-free sailing, representing a new generation of vessels that respect the marine environment.

Award for pioneering, sustainable marine projects and engineering: Abervian 

Abervian has been recognised for its notable work in the area of engineering applied to sustainable maritime projects. The company has developed advanced technical solutions aimed at improving energy efficiency, ensuring electrification and integrating new technologies in port and maritime environments, thus establishing its position as a key player in the innovation of sustainable marine infrastructures.

Award for port energy innovation: Grup Aquacenter

Aquacenter has received this award for its commitment to innovative solutions in the field of energy management and sustainability on port premises. Its work contributes to improving port efficiency through new technologies and management models that facilitate energy optimisation, emission reduction and the transition to smart, sustainable ports.

Award for the best sustainable water activities business in Spain: Water Toys Team

Water Toys Team has been recognised for leading a water activities model based on sustainability, innovation and respect for the marine environment. The company has developed a range of water experiences that draws on clean technologies and new ways of enjoying the sea with less of an environmental impact, as well as helping to raise public awareness of the importance of protecting our marine ecosystems.

Port Olímpic will host the 3rd edition of the Barcelona Electric Marine Show (BEMS), the leading event in the sustainable nautical sector, from 10 to 12 April. 

For the third year running, the event brings together companies at the forefront of the nautical sector’s energy transition, showcasing the latest advances in sustainable maritime mobility. This year, BEMS also welcomes companies and professionals from the electromobility sector, strengthening the connection between land and sea in the energy transition.

In Catalonia, the nautical sector comprises 500 companies, generating a turnover of €1.028 billion and supporting 4,000 jobs, according to data from the Barcelona Capital Nàutica Foundation, ACCIÓ and Barcelona Activa. Nearly half of this turnover is concentrated in shipyards specialising in vessel repair and refitting, new-build shipyards and supporting industries, alongside a growing presence of companies developing sustainable propulsion solutions for both new vessels and the retrofitting of conventional models. 

The event also comes at a particularly significant moment for Barcelona, which is currently home to the Ocean Decade Collaborative Centre, a UNESCO initiative dedicated to advancing the sustainable blue economy. 

Vessels, electric water mobility and charging solutions

At the exhibition area on the Moll de Mestral wharf, visitors can discover innovative projects such as the electric catamaran by Earthling e-Propulsion (New Zealand), the 100% electric jet ski by Taiga Motors (Canada) and a new charging point for boats and vehicles developed by VEGA Chargers (Catalonia). 

Rounding out the water mobility offering are stand-out innovations such as the Sea-NXT Elite RS underwater scooter by Sea-NXT (France), made from carbon fibre with a lightweight modular design; the Smart 1.3 electric outboard motor by Boatee (Italy), designed for small vessels; the new llaüt featuring two electric motors by Electric Inside Boats (Catalonia); and the new Spirit 2 outboard motor by ePropulsion (China), equivalent to 5 hp.

Land-based electromobility and sea–land connectivity

From the land mobility sector, exhibitors include Endolla Barcelona, the electromobility network managed by BSM; manufacturers such as Tesla (United States) and Xpeng (China), showcasing a range of electric vehicle models; and an electric charging station by Domini Ambiental (Catalonia).

Visitors can also explore the latest electric motorbike models from Zero Motorcycles (United States), alongside those presented by electromobility specialist dealership E-Letamendi, featuring brands such as Velca, Segway, eFun, Nerva, Cecotec, Silence, Next, Vmoto, Askoll, Niu and Ultraviolette.  

The event also includes an extensive conference programme, where representatives from the nautical, port and renewable energy sectors will explore the challenges of decarbonising the maritime industry. These sessions will take place on Friday 10 April, from 10 am to 2 pm, at Espai Mestral. 

Sustainable Boating Awards 

As part of BEMS, Port Olímpic will also host the Sustainable Boating Awards, organised by ANBE. The ceremony will take place on Friday 10 April at Espai Mestral and will bring together professionals and experts from the sustainable nautical mobility sector. 

The awards recognise projects, companies and ports that promote sustainable boating, with accolades for initiatives in innovation, decarbonisation, electrification and energy efficiency.

Launch of La Mar de Plans, Port Olímpic’s family activities programme 

Over the weekend, BEMS will also open its doors to the public, who, in addition to discovering the latest developments in electric boating, zero-emission water sports and electric vehicles, can look forward to a wide range of free family and sports activities. 

On Saturday 11 April, Port Olímpic will launch La Mar de Plans, its family-friendly programme of free activities for all ages. That same day sees Dissabte Blau, Port Olímpic’s family festival, with sea-themed workshops and activities running throughout the morning, followed at 12.30 pm by the magic show “Abrakadabra KKDVAK” by David Valencia. 

Saturday also brings the DiR Xperience Dexeus Dona event to Moll de Mestral, a popular celebration of sport held to mark World Physical Activity Day. Throughout the morning, there will be guided barre, zumba and HIIT sessions, as well as the talk "Sport, health and women: a balance for every stage of life". 

On Sunday 12, the La Mar de Plans programme continues with new educational workshops and the show “La tempesta dels oceans” by Salvamar Cirkus.  

Port Olímpic, a port committed to sustainability

With the Barcelona Electric Marine Show (BEMS), Port Olímpic continues to move forward in its firm commitment to sustainability and the blue economy. Energy efficiency, renewable self-consumption, circularity and the promotion of biodiversity have all been key elements in the transformation of the Port Olímpic, which was led by BSM on behalf of the Ajuntament de Barcelona. 

Port Olímpic also led the way in 2024 with the installation of two ultra-fast charging points for electric vessels – the first of their kind in Spain– powered by photovoltaic energy generated at the port itself. 

ANBE, the association promoting sustainable boating 

The National Association of Electric Boats (ANBE) was set up to drive the decarbonisation of the nautical sector and raise public awareness of the benefits of electric sailing and sustainable boating in general. The association currently has some fifty members, including ports, shipyards, boat and equipment suppliers, companies in the recreational sailing sector, battery and motor manufacturers and sailing schools.
