With more than 160 concerts scheduled, Anella Olímpica consolidates its reputation as a leading venue for live music with a plural, diverse offering for all audiences

In the coming months, the city will host concerts from top artists like Bad Bunny, Eric Clapton, The Weeknd, Aitana and Oques Grasses, among others 

Once again, the calendar at the Anella Olímpica – a space managed by BSM – is packed this spring-summer season. With more than 160 concerts planned throughout the year, the calendar at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, Palau Sant Jordi and Sant Jordi Club is once again positioning Barcelona as a leading international city for live music. 

This year, 2026, is especially filled with large-format events and renowned artists who have made Barcelona a key stop on their major music tours. The calendar features exclusive concerts within Spain, longer stints with several consecutive nights at the same venue and especially significant events in some performers’ careers. 

The programme is a plural, diverse range of events for all audiences that boosts Anella Olímpica’s role as a leading cultural venue. On top of that, with this activity level, 2026 is slated to be a record year in terms of both the number of events and the prestige of the artists scheduled to perform here.

Residencies, Spanish exclusives and long-awaited concerts

This year, Palau Sant Jordi is the venue for longer stints at Anella Olímpica, with popular artists who have made more tickets available by putting on more than one concert. Things get started with Rosalía, who will hold four concerts on 13, 15, 17 and 18 April in one of the most talked-about concert series of 2026. Aitana will also perform there on 4, 5, 7 and 8 September, while La Oreja de Van Gogh will hold four concerts on 6, 7, 26 and 27 November.

In this busy schedule, Palau Sant Jordi will also host exclusive concerts in Spain on great artists’ international tours. Examples include Eric Clapton on 10 May; TWICE on 12 May; Synthony on 21 October; and Niall Horan, who will take to the stage on 25 October. 

Then there is Sant Jordi Club, with concerts from Pau Vallvé, scheduled for 25 April; Rodrigo Cuevas on 9 May; Placebo on 3 October; and La Fúmiga on 16 and 17 October. During the same period, Palau Sant Jordi will be the venue for concerts by Morat, who will perform on 16 and 17 October; Melendi on 1 and 2 November; Pitbull on 4 November; and Bryan Adams on 14 November.

This busy schedule becomes even more extraordinary at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys, which will host some of the most eagerly awaited concerts of the season. With a musical career spanning more than fifteen years, Oques Grasses are now saying goodbye to their fans with four concerts, on 5, 7, 9 and 10 October. The finishing touch on the programme is provided by other highly anticipated events, like the return of El Último de la Fila with concerts on 3 and 7 May, and the first stop on the European leg of Bad Bunny’s tour, scheduled for 22 and 23 May, which confirm 2026 as an exceptional year that puts Barcelona and Anella Olímpica at the heart of the international musical calendar.

The Estadi Olímpic schedule also features performances by Don Omar on 23 July and The Weeknd, with a concert on 1 September, which highlight the venue’s status as a key venue for large-format concerts.

Beyond live music, in 2026, Anella Olímpica will strengthen its role as a multi-purpose, strategic venue for hosting major international events. In sport, one of the most outstanding events of the next year will be the Tour de France Grand Départ (4 and 5 July), which will end at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Also on the calendar is the third edition of Premier Padel, which will turn Palau Sant Jordi into the world capital of this sport from 10 to 13 December.

All in all, the 2026 programme solidifies Anella Olímpica’s position as one of the main catalysts of cultural activity and events in the city, with a range of activities that combines quality artists and international appeal and boosts its role as a key venue in Barcelona’s events calendar.

Endolla Barcelona is strengthening its commitment to advancing electromobility by opening the city’s first public ultra-fast charging hub. With this initiative, Barcelona’s electromobility network, managed by BSM, is expanding its offer to deliver a faster, more convenient and accessible charging experience, while supporting the transition towards more sustainable mobility. 

Mayor Jaume Collboni underlined the importance of the new facility: ‘It’s a major step forward and a paradigm shift. Barcelona is maintaining and reinforcing its leadership in electric vehicle charging infrastructure This momentum also improves opportunities for industry throughout the city and metropolitan area, including the automotive plants in Zona Franca, as well as for the families who work in and depend on them.’

A charging experience in just 15 minutes

The hub will be located at 2 C/ Germans Desvalls, next to Passeig de la Vall d’Hebron, a strategic site with direct access to the Ronda de Dalt ring road and the city’s main entry and exit routes. This location is easy to reach for residents and also provides a practical option for drivers entering or leaving the city who need to top up their range. 
The facility will be equipped with ultra-fast charging technology of up to 480 kW, enabling vehicles to achieve up to 400 km of range in just 15 minutes. This is a major step forward for the network, as it increases vehicle turnover and significantly reduces charging times. The new hub adopts a stop-and-go model, allowing users to continue their journey after a brief charging stop.

To ensure accessibility, the charging points will be simple and intuitive to use. As part of the city’s smart, connected mobility strategy, SMOU users can simply scan a QR code with their phone and connect the cable to begin charging. Other users will also be able to access the service by paying directly via a card machine.

A fully equipped space serving more than 300 vehicles per day

The hub will cover an area of around 900 m2 and will include 12 charging bays for passenger cars and last-mile delivery vehicles, with an estimated capacity of more than 300 vehicles per day. 

Beyond the charging infrastructure itself, the facility has been designed as a comprehensive space prioritising user experience. While their vehicles are charging, users will have access to rest areas, workspaces and shaded zones, as well as Wi-Fi, vending machines and accessible toilets, among other amenities. The hub will also incorporate monitoring and information systems to ensure a convenient, safe and efficient experience. 

The project, with an investment of €2,082,000, will begin construction this summer and is scheduled to open by the end of 2026.

A charging model powered by renewable energy

The new Endolla Barcelona hub adopts a renewable energy-based charging system, in line with the city’s sustainability goals. The facility incorporates a photovoltaic canopy and a battery storage system for more efficient energy management. This reduces reliance on the electricity grid and supports a more environmentally friendly energy model. 

Endolla Barcelona currently operates 1,041 charging points across the city and records an average of 18,000 charging sessions per month. 

A facility that reinforces Barcelona’s commitment to sustainable mobility

The new hub forms part of Endolla Barcelona’s network expansion strategy, supporting the roll-out of a more accessible and evenly distributed public network. Looking ahead, the facility addresses the growing need for more powerful infrastructure capable of serving multiple vehicles simultaneously, in line with the demands of current and future mobility. It offers a forward-looking, sustainable and digital solution that prioritises user experience, while preparing the city to meet increasingly demanding charging needs. 

A successful transition to zero-emission mobility requires a public service that guarantees proximity, accessibility and availability for electric vehicle users. The new Endolla Barcelona hub is designed to support this shift and reinforce the city’s commitment to more environmentally friendly mobility.

Half of all civic officers are now deployed specifically in high-traffic areas (EGAs), an increase made possible through tourism tax revenue

Over the past year, Ajuntament de Barcelona has doubled the number of civic officers tasked with promoting harmony and civic behaviour in public spaces. This expansion focused on high-traffic areas (EGAs), zones designated by the municipal government to protect the city’s neighbourhoods and local businesses and to mitigate the negative impacts of mass tourism. The number of civic officers for the summer will rise from 66 last year to 118 this year, the highest number to date.

This increase follows the recruitment, at the end of March, of 33 new civic officers assigned specifically to the EGAs of Sagrada Família, La Rambla and Turó de la Rovira. Their posts are funded through tourism taxation, representing an investment of approximately €1.5 million. A further 19 civic officers deployed around Park Güell, recruited last summer, have been retained this year under BSM, with an investment of around €1.18 million.

Of the remaining 66 civic officers, around ten were already operating in EGAs, as well as other parts of the city such as Sant Antoni, Barceloneta and Montjuïc. With the current increase, funded through tourist tax revenue, Ajuntament de Barcelona will invest more than €6.5 million in this programme and will allocate half of the civic officers to tourist areas.

Civic officers are tasked with improving people’s quality of life by ensuring civic behaviour and harmony throughout Barcelona. With identifiable uniforms, they work morning and afternoon shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Their role is to inform, summon and, where necessary, issue warnings to anyone, whether residents or visitors, whose public behaviour may disrupt the normal functioning of the city. Where appropriate, they may also refer incidents to the Guàrdia Urbana (GUB), Barcelona’s city police, for a fine to be issued. This increase in staffing also supports enforcement of the new public harmony byelaw, which came into force last February.

Civic officers were established as a permanent unit serving Barcelona in 2015, when municipal company BSM started running the service and its operations on behalf of the City Council. Since then, under BSM’s leadership, the unit has adapted to changing needs and circumstances, consistently meeting the requirements set by the City Council. After a decade of service, civic officers have become a key element in promoting shared civic responsibility and helping to make Barcelona a safer, more liveable and more orderly city.

The staff, who receive specific training before going out onto the streets, not only use an educational approach to correct behaviour but also record their observations throughout the day. Their duties include managing pedestrian traffic, providing general information, ensuring proper waste management and mediating to prevent behaviours such as feeding animals in public spaces or walking dogs off lead. In short, civic officers provide information, prevent incidents and maintain public harmony, focusing on all behaviours that affect the civic and respectful use of public spaces.

By permanently incorporating this role in EGAs specifically, bringing the total to 52 staff in just one year, Barcelona City Council is strengthening its commitment to further improving the management of tourism in the city. This work is funded through tourist tax revenue, reflecting the goal of having visitors take shared responsibility for their use of public spaces and ensuring that city residents benefit from the tourism sector and the revenue it generates. The agreement with the Port de Barcelona to reduce the number of cruise terminals from seven to five, along with the introduction of the new Bus 4.0 zone to regulate tourist coach activity, are also part of this same approach.

During this two-day event, taking place today and tomorrow, the pupils will be immersed in the world of biology through fun, participation-based activities

This morning, Zoo de Barcelona has hosted another session in the STEAM series, an initiative led by BSM and the Barcelona East Engineering School (EEBE) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia - BarcelonaTech (UPC) that aims to encourage young people to pursue careers in science and technology. 

Today’s session on biology was attended by 503 Year 1 and Year 2 pupils from 7 secondary schools, while tomorrow, 614 more from a total of 11 schools are expected to take part.  

Throughout the morning, the pupils – split into small groups – explored different areas of biology through play and experimentation, both in Zoo de Barcelona’s classrooms and in its outdoor spaces. They explored topics such as the information contained in DNA, how metabolism turns food into energy and communication between the brain and the muscles. 

The BSM/UPC STEAM series

Now in its eighth year, the STEAM programme led by BSM and the UPC combines workshops and immersive activities to get primary, secondary and baccalaureate pupils interested in science, technology, engineering, art and maths. The sessions take place in iconic Barcelona landmarks (including Zoo de Barcelona, Park Güell, Anella Olímpica, Parc del Fòrum and Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo) and focus on getting young people, especially girls, interested in careers in science.

Every event is structured around activities led by teaching and outreach teams, supported by UPC students. The initiative combines practical experiments, workshops and science shows, with content adapted to the curriculum and the pupils’ level. The goal is to develop STEAM skills through a participation-based, inspiring, academically challenging experience.

The next event, open to 2nd- and 3rd-year secondary school pupils, will take place at the Anella Olímpica on 24 March. It will focus on aspects of applied science through activities organised according to five areas of knowledge: the brain, matter, energy, art and technology. And on 13 May, Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo will host Fisidabo, an event for 4th-year secondary students and baccalaureate students that will turn the park into a physics laboratory for the day. 

There will also be three training sessions for teachers: one at Zoo de Barcelona on 9 April, which will focus on teaching biology; another at Parc d’atraccions Tibidabo on 16 April, looking at physics experiments; and, for the first time, one at Park Güell on 9 May, about maths activities and workshops.

One Thursday each month, Port Olímpic is offering the chance to learn to sail with professional sailors, followed by a gathering at the Balcó Gastronòmic

Port Olímpic is bringing back Dijous de Vent, an initiative to encourage the public to get into sailing with the help of professional sailors and then enjoy a gathering at the Balcó Gastronòmic. 

The first outing of the season will take place on Thursday 19 March, and monthly sessions have been organised up to October. This activity is open to both beginners and professional or amateur sailors.

Each Dijous de Vent session includes a sailing outing with sailors from the Port Olímpic’s nautical businesses and a visit to the Balcó Gastronòmic, the new food and drink area at the port that offers a wide range of high-quality options, with unbeatable views of the Mediterranean and the city. The participating businesses for the March session are the Escola Port, Barcelona Sailing Experience, Tur Tur Experience, Más Navega, Business Yacht Club, Escuela Náutica Neptuno and Anclademia, as well as the Superlocal restaurant, where the post-sailing gathering will take place.
These sailing outings are completely free of charge and are managed with a draw system through the Port Olímpic’s Instagram page (@portolimpicbarcelona). 

Port Olímpic’s commitment to bringing sailing closer to the public 

The Dijous de Vent initiative is part of the measures taken by the Port Olímpic (a space managed by BSM on behalf of Ajuntament de Barcelona) to promote nautical activities among the public. Others include La Polar, the community regatta that links Barcelona with La Ràpita, and other competitions, such as the Lliga Social and the Regata 5 Clubs.

From 17 March to 9 April, ten Easter eggs made by expert chocolatiers and inspired by Gaudí’s work will be exhibited in Park Güell’s Sala Hipòstila

The exhibition will bring together heritage, craft and creativity through ten chocolate pieces that will reinterpret the park’s shapes, symbolism and colours

The egg that receives the most votes from visitors will be taken to the Museu de la Xocolata, and the rest will be sampled after the Trencadís del Trencadís, the symbolic breaking of the Easter egg, which will be carried out by pupils from local schools 

 

Today, Park Güell and the Gremi de Pastisseria de Barcelona [Barcelona Pastry Chefs’ Guild] have launched Gaudí en xocolata, an exhibition of Easter eggs inspired by the work of Antoni Gaudí. The exhibition, which can be visited from 17 March until 9 April in the park’s Sala Hipòstila, includes a total of ten chocolate pieces made by chefs from the guild, who have reinterpreted Gaudí’s style through the tradition of the mona de Pasqua Easter cake. 

The opening event featured Carme Lanuza, the director of Park Güell, Miquel A. Zaguirre, the chair of the Gremi de Pastisseria de Barcelona, and all the expert chocolatiers whose work will be exhibited. In an especially meaningful year for Park Güell – the centenary of the park opening to the public – the initiative strengthens collaboration between the two institutions and the shared desire to bring together heritage, craft and creativity through a format accessible to all. Saray Ruíz, the director of the Gremi de Barcelona’s Pastry School, also spoke at the opening event on behalf of the chefs taking part in the exhibition. 

All of the pieces, inspired by the park’s characteristic shapes, symbolism and colours, were selected by an expert committee through an application process open to all the chefs in the guild. Each Easter egg is exhibited in its own display cabinet, showcasing the artistry of each chef certified by the Gremi de Pastisseria de Barcelona, which celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.

The master chefs exhibiting their chocolate eggs in the Sala Hipòstila will be:

1. Ernest Ameller (Bubó Barcelona), with ‘El batec del trencadís’: The head of a highly influential creative patisserie brand, Ameller takes an innovative approach featuring chocolate and contemporary designs. His mona de Pasqua collections have been recognised for their sculptural and creative approach.

2. Carles Carreras (Pastisseria Xocolateria Núria, Terrassa, Barcelona), with ‘Drac o salamandra?’: A master pastry chef from a family business with deep roots in Terrassa, Carreras delivers classic recipes with impeccable execution and a consistent commitment to high-quality ingredients. He is particularly well known for his work with chocolate.

3. Miquel Chamorro (Brunells 1852, Barcelona), with ‘La Casa del guarda’: From this historic patisserie in the Born neighbourhood, young pastry chef Miquel Chamorro works in tandem with Andreu Sayó, combining tradition and avant-garde to maintain a classic essence while incorporating modern techniques and high-quality ingredients.

4. Lluís Costa (Vallflorida Xocolaters, Sant Esteve de Palautordera, Barcelona), with ‘Ou trencadís’: The winner of the 2023 Best Artisan Panettone Competition in Spain in both the classic and chocolate categories, Lluís Costa is known for his creative flavours and presentations and works at a bakery in the Montseny region that has earned international recognition for its innovation in chocolate.

5. Lluc Crusellas (Eukarya Xocolata, Vic, Barcelona), with ‘L’ou per la finestra’:  In 2022, Crusellas was proclaimed World Chocolate Master at the prestigious World Chocolate Masters competition in Paris, becoming the first chocolatier in Spain to win this title. He is known for his artisanal cocoa work, which combines technical excellence and creativity.

6. Lluís Estrada (Pastisseria Mervier Canal, Barcelona), with ‘Palmera Gaudí’: A leading figure in haute pâtisserie, Lluís Estrada is known for his technical excellence, his training work and for reinterpreting classics with a refined aesthetic at the head of one of the best patisseries in Barcelona.

7. Natàlia Grau (Pastisseria Grau, Esparraguera, Barcelona), with ‘La vida que trenca dins’: From a family of renowned pastry chefs, Natàlia Grau runs the family business with a commitment to balanced flavours and delicate presentations that combine Catalan tradition and contemporary creativity with elegance and technical precision.

8. Josep Maria Rodríguez (La Pastisseria Barcelona), with ‘Ondulació Viva – Trencadís 1926 – 2026, Llegat Etern’: Josep M. Rodríguez won the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie with his team in 2011 and leads a modern, internationally renowned patisserie, where he creates sophisticated desserts with precise technique and intense flavours.

9. Saray Ruiz and Lluïsa Estrada (EPGB), with ‘Park Güell – Una porta oberta al món’: Director of the internationally renowned Gremi de Barcelona Pastry School, Saray Ruiz was proclaimed the Best Artisan Master Chocolate Maker in Spain in 2019 and won the 2017 and 2021 editions of the International Chocolate Figures Competition.

10. Adan Sáez (Xocosave Xocolateria Confiteria, Riudoms, Tarragona), with ‘L’Ou de la Creació – Antoni Gaudí’: Recognised for his mastery of cocoa and his creative approach, Adan Sáez has made his mark on this Tarragona establishment specialising in chocolate in all its forms, from bonbons to innovative creations.

Participatory closing event: Public vote and Trencadissa celebration

While the exhibition is on, all visitors will be encouraged to vote for their favourite egg by scanning the QR code on the information poster located in the Sala Hipòstila. The winning egg will be taken to the Museu de la Xocolata in Barcelona, continuing the exhibition and recognising the creativity of its creator.

The exhibition will end on Thursday 9 April with a closing ceremony at Park Güell. Some 265 pupils from local schools will participate in the Trencadís del Trencadís activity, a symbolic breaking of the Easter egg. The participating schools are Escola Baldiri Reixac, Escola Montseny, Escola Turó del Cargol and Col·legi Kostka – Jesuïtes Gràcia, all in the Gràcia district, and the Institut Escola Coves d’en Cimany, in Horta-Guinardó. Once the Trencadís del Trencadís is finished, the pupils will enjoy hot chocolate in the Jardins d’Àustria.

The initiative, organised by BSM and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia – BarcelonaTech (UPC), aims to spark young people’s interest in scientific careers.

Through educational and hands-on activities, workshops and shows, students explored STEAM disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, technology and maths. 

This morning, a new session of the STEAM series took place at Parc del Fòrum. The initiative, promoted by BSM and the Barcelona East School of Engineering (EEBE) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, seeks to encourage scientific vocations among young people. More than 1,600 fourth-year secondary and baccalaureate students from 37 schools across Barcelona and other Catalan municipalities enjoyed this morning of science, now in its eighth consecutive year. 

Throughout the day, Parc del Fòrum became a large outdoor science classroom. Students were divided into small groups to take part in educational and hands-on activities, workshops and shows connected to STEAM disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, technology and maths. 

Eclipses, e-mobility and quantum levitation: new experiences at STEAM Day

This year’s programme included a new experimental session led by astrophysicist and UPC lecturer Glòria Sala. Dovetailing with the total solar eclipse that will be visible from Spain this year, the expert gave a talk-show combining visual experiments and analogies that enabled students to deepen their understanding of eclipses and the significance of exoplanet research.

In addition, reflecting the growing global focus on e-mobility, an activity linked to ePowered Racing, the student motorbike team from EEBE, was added. This engineering challenge invited students to build an electric motor capable of spinning autonomously and stably by applying concepts of electric current, magnetic fields and energy-to-motion conversion. 

One of this year’s new standout activities was a workshop exploring the effects of quantum levitation. Using a magnetic levitation train, the activity visually demonstrated the phenomenon of superconductivity and how it enables levitation and frictionless movement. 

For the second consecutive year, the Municipal Tow Truck also played a central role in the event. Classroom groups were able to experiment with basic physics principles using an official vehicle from the fleet and learned about the essential role this service plays in ensuring smooth urban mobility. Through a demonstrative show, students explored Newton’s third law and how the pneumatic circuits that allow the crane to lift extremely heavy loads work.  

The STEAM programme continues across the city’s most iconic locations

These STEAM events, organised by BSM and UPC and held at some of the city’s most iconic venues, provide high-quality educational experiences that encourage scientific and technical vocations among students, particularly girls.
For this academic year, in addition to the Parc del Fòrum session and the event held at Park Güell in November 2025, four further STEAM sessions for young people are planned. Two will take place at Zoo de Barcelona on 17 and 18 March for first- and second-year secondary students, focusing on various aspects of biology. The third dedicated to applied science will be held at the Anella Olímpica on 24 March for second- and third-year secondary students, with activities organised across five knowledge areas: brain, matter, energy, art and technology. Finally, on 13 May, Tibidabo will host Fisidabo, a session for fourth-year secondary and baccalaureate students that will turn the park into the world’s most fun physics laboratory.

Three teacher training sessions are also planned. One at Zoo de Barcelona on 9 April will focus on biology education, the one at Tibidabo on 16 April will centre on physics experiments, and for the first time, the one at Park Güell on 9 May will feature activities and workshops on maths.

The unveiling of the “Barcelona” letters, designed by the MIAS Arquitectes studio, marks the beginning of an anniversary year at Parc d’Atraccions Tibidabo that will be packed with activities for all audiences

The Parc d’Atraccions Tibidabo kicked off a very special season on Saturday, marking its 125th anniversary. The ceremony was led by the mayor of Barcelona, Jaume Collboni, and the first deputy mayor and chair of BSM, Laia Bonet, with the participation of the director general of BSM, Marta Labata, the director of the Parc d’Atraccions Tibidabo, Rosa Ortiz, and several representatives from the city’s social and economic network, plus members of the TibiClub. 

During the ceremony, the letters “Barcelona” were unveiled at the viewing area. These letters were created by the MIAS Arquitectes studio, headed by Josep Miàs, and make the views of the city from this spot even more memorable. The piece is made up of nine illuminated steel letters and encourages visitor interaction through bench-like structures.

The park also presented one of its new features for the season this morning: Colors, la pel·lícula de les Mascotes, which can be seen in 4D at the park’s Dididado cinema as from today. The 12-minute film, which is suitable for audiences of all ages, tells the adventures of the park’s Mascots –Ti, Bi, Da and Bo– on their mission to bring back Barcelona’s colours. The film is a Grup Transversal and Tigrelab production. 

New season to thrill young and old 

This will be a year of surprises on Barcelona’s most magical summit, with an anniversary programme designed to keep thrilling young and old. The park’s mascots will have a more prominent role, new shows will be presented and the popular Làser Show will be back on summer evenings. The season also will see the opening of chef Rafa Zafra’s new eatery in the La Masia building in June.

On 4 October, during Tibidabo’s birthday month, a community walk will set off from the Jardinets de Gràcia to Plaça del Doctor Andreu, where participants can catch the Cuca de Llum funicular to reach the park and enjoy a festive day filled with activities and special events.
